Ordering and Shipping Information

General Information:

We specialize in Streptocarpus and Chiritas and keep young plants of these in stock. Due to space restrictions all other plants are custom propagated as ordered. These orders, if received by May 1 each year , will be individually propagated and sent out by mid- September.

At this time, we only ship within Canada. Our shipping season is from May to October. Sometimes we may have to alter our shipping dates if we have an unusually cold Spring or Fall. When you place your order, you may want to advise us of the best time to ship to your particular area. Note that the minimum order is $30.00 Cdn, not including shipping & handling.

Our plants are shipped in 2 1/4 inch and 3 inch pots. You should be aware that they are not fully grown plants such as you would see at your local garden center. Small plants are easier to package and more economical to ship. Small plants are also better able to adjust to your own particular environment. All our plants are carefully wrapped and packed to avoid damage during transit. Refer to the section on 'Plant Care' for tips on looking after your plants. Note the section “ Caring For Your Plants Upon Arrival.” Sometimes a leaf or two may become broken or crushed in transit. As long as the root ball is intact, the plant will send up new growth after you receive it.

All shipments are made on a first-come, first-served basis, and are sent out as soon as the plants ordered are well-established and of a good shipping size. Please note that we sometimes have a heavy demand for certain varieties, so you may wish to list acceptable alternatives with your order. We will provide a substitute plant of equal value. If there are no alternatives listed, your order may be delayed until it can be completely filled. We are unable to supply individual plants in large quantities, or sell to wholesale buyers. There is a limit of 3 for each kind of plant ordered. You can order as many different varieties as you like.

We normally ship Express post which guarantees 2 to 4 day delivery to most places in Canada. We ship on Mondays and Tuesdays only, holidays permitting, so that the plants will arrive at their destination before the weekend. We will notify you by phone or e-mail when we are ready to ship your order. Before we ship your plants, we need to confirm that someone will be home to receive them. Please e-mail us to confirm that you have received this notification. If we don't hear back from you, we will hold your order until we do hear from you.

Your satisfaction is our goal. If there is a problem with your order, please let us know immediately.

 

Placing An Order:

We ask that you correspond with us via e-mail. Please use a detailed descriptive line for your e-mail subject so that we will recognize your order as a legitimate e-mail and not as spam.

Since our plant inventory varies throughout the shipping season, please do not send payment until we have confirmed availability of the plants you are requesting.

Placing an order involves the following steps:

  1. Complete our online order form and click the submit button. You may wish to list alternative selections in case the plants you want are sold out.

  2. We will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order. We will advise you of plant availability and of the shipping and handling charges to your location in Canada. If you do not receive this confirmation within 7 days, please contact us and we will resend it.

  3. If you wish to proceed with your order you will need to mail us a copy of your completed order form and enclose a money order made out to: Lynda Stevens. Make sure your money order includes shipping & handling.
